I am truly having a Senior moment ~
as in
"I can't believe my baby is a Senior in high school!!!"
Small freak out on my part here.
Wendy told me that she sat on her front steps and cried when she said good-bye to Kylie but I am still in shock. It hasn't quite sunk in yet. I mean, I told Addison the night before that "...tomorrow will be your last first day of school!! Can you believe that??!"
He could.
I can't.
Ya ya - I know that there are still a lot of firsts still to come in his life, like a first day of school in college, but somehow I don't think it will be the same.
I just know that I am looking forward to a LOT more firsts.

10 notes for us!!:
oh my gosh, this is SO hard! it was hard enough sending the high schooler out the door on monday! i know his first day of his senior year is only two years away, but for now, i'm in total denial!
luckily, the kids don't seem to be as nervous as their mothers!
he will be great, what a fun time of his life! :)
I still remember hearing the news that he had been born! I can't believe he is already a Senior (or that Brittaney is a Junior)!
Addison-you are a great kid! Have a wonderful Senior year and always remember to CTR! :)
Nicki-you have done a FABULOUS job raising Addison! He really has turned into a wonderful young man! You are such a wonderful Mom and a truly remarkable and special example to me! I want to be just like you when I grow up! :)
Here's to another year of High School...GOOD LUCK! :)
You are a very Brave mom. You must be proud of the wonderful boy you have raised.
Good thing YOU'RE not getting older huh?
I really admire you for raising such an awesome "kid". He is great! You have definitely earned a special place in heaven! I love you sooooo much Nick!
WOW!!! I remember being at your house in Tucson and he was in a high chair!!! The time has flown! Taylor is in 9th grade and he's like a total GUY now, kinda freaks me out, but fun too! What an adventure.....looks like you've done a wonderful job raising him. xo
Nice wonderful picture. I did the same thing with Rick about, "this will be the last Halloween in school, or the last dance, or the last basketball game or track meet. I'm sure I made him so happy! :) But it was really tramatic, so I know how you feel. There ARE other happy things, but like you said, it isn't the same.I probably made you happpy!! :)
What a good lad Nicki. Things will be real fun this year. You will love all the new things he will do. And when he goes on his mission you will love that and you will be thankful that he made that choice in life. Nothing stays the same only gets better. Have a good year WITH him. Love you both, Aunt RaeDean
Thanks for all the wonderful words my dear friends and family! Thanks for the advice, encouragment, and love YOU ALL show us all the time! If Addison is such a good young man, it is because of the wonderful influences he has in his life like having loved ones around such as yourselves. A BIG thanks for that!
Addison looks so handsome, I hope he can keep the girls at bay until he returns from his mission. He is such a great kid, and will go far. But we need to honor his wishes too, remember, he doesn't want to grow up. And that is ok with his Oma! Love ya!
